Imagine finding a cave full of crystals, you would think you had suddenly found a breathtaking fantasy world. Planet earth is rich with wonder and beauty but nothing affects me as much as crystals do, (except for angels). It is no wonder that for century’s humans have used crystals for healing purposes as well as for showing status, bringing good luck and happiness. Not only do crystals glimmer with color and light, they hold a vibrant energy as well. This energy is felt when meditating or concentrating very hard. The faith in crystals and their powerful energies have existed for centuries. Today, new age beliefs, for example, Spirituality, still believe that crystals have healing powers and many spiritualists wear a crystal around their necks.

My favorite crystal is an Emerald closely followed by the Moonstone, Rose Quartz, Amethyst and Aquamarine. These may be my favorite but all crystals are important to me. Wearing a crystal around my neck gives me hope, courage, and peace.

It is important to cleanse your crystal because they pick up negative energy as well as positive energy. I soak my crystals in sea salt and warm water and leave them in the moonlight overnight. Then I rinse them under clear water. I believe that each crystal has my positive energy so I do not allow anyone to touch them.

When using crystals for healing it is necessary to meditate. When meditating you become one with the crystal. Both the crystal’s energy and your energy will promote the healing process. You have to believe in yourself and your crystal for it to emanate the powers locked inside.

Every month has a particular birthstone/crystal dedicated to it. Each of the crystals representing the different birth signs holds its own unique energy. People do not necessary stick to their own birthstones but instead choose one that will give help with the energy they personally need. Each time I have bought a crystal, it drew me like a magnet and it felt warm and alive when I held it in my hand. I am sure the crystal selects its new owner and not the other way around.

Writing about crystals, I must include the beautiful crystal ball. The most popular crystal used for a crystal ball is the clear quartz, although sometimes sapphires are also used. The perfectly rounded shape makes it a goddess symbol. The powerful energy of both these crystal’s enable the user to connect to the spiritual world and obtain information that helps with future decisions and past mistakes. A crystal ball is usually associated with gypsy fortunetellers and ancient wizards or druids, but many different beliefs such as Wicca, Pagan and Spiritualists consult the crystal ball.

I have completed two charts that I hope will come in handy. For the birthstone chart, I have chosen the mystical birthstones. The chart for healing properties only shows the more popular crystals on it.
