Burn Fat in Office
Tough office hours leave no time for exercise. Here are few things you can try out in the office to burn fat.

I have really long office hours, and spend nearly 14 hours a day in the office. These days I have started noticing a little bulge in my tummy-region, which I’m sure wasn’t there. I would like to lose it, but office leaves no time to burn fat. So, I started searching for means of burning fat in office. Here are a few tips that should help you lose a few extra pounds. (I’ve started trying them out; let’s see how it goes):
- Try to stand as much as possible, don’t just pass that file across to your colleague- stand up, walk to your colleague and then come back to your seat. It will only take a few extra seconds and do you a world of good.
- Ask around for others in the office who might want to shed a little weight too. Maybe you all can get together and form a lunchtime walking group!
- If you have the option, do not take the lift, climb the stairs. If your office is several floors above, climb up at least 5 the button for lift.
- Even within your cubicle, try a few stretches, here are a few things you can do:
- Calf raises: Hold you desk for balance, then raise and lower your heels
- Wrist stretch: Bring your arm in front of you. Your palm should face up and now hold the fingers of this hand with the other. See that the forearm gets stretched for at least 20-30 seconds. Now it is the turn of the other side.
- Bring your arms together in the Indian “namaste” position. That is, the palms pressed together, elbows on the chest. Now apply very little pressure on the wrist- from right to left and vice versa. Repeat.
- Do a few squats with your chair.
- Gluteal squeeze: Hold the rear part of your body in tension for as long as possible and then release. It is said that you burn fat around the bottom with this.
- Try walking at least a part of your way to office, I cannot do this, but if possible, do not miss the opportunity.
- Eat on time. We tend to take junk more often when we are pre-occupied and hungry. A timely, healthy meal should take care of this.
Actually this is not the end of the list. There are a lot of exercises you can do in cabin, depending on your work atmosphere. Get innovative. You can beat those calories!
