Burn Those Calories, Lose Weight

Now is a great time to take the steps necessary to turn your body into a fat burning machine.

Ok its time to burn those calories and lose weight. You are probably sitting their saying to yourself, “no kidding” right? Well it is not as hard as you may think; it just takes a good plan and the discipline to follow that plan. Do this and you will lose weight in no time.

The results from years of studies and focus groups lead us to believe that the idea behind proper nutrition and exercise is to turn our bodies into fat burning machines. This is because we are cranking up our metabolism (the rate at which our body burns fat) at rest. When you do this it is easy to lose weight and keep it off.

Start off with a good nutrition program. You want to eat six healthy meals each day which is about one meal every two and a half to three hours. If you live a busy lifestyle then set one night out of the week where you prepare all of your meals ahead of time making it easier for you.

Each meal should consist of equal portions of protein, carbohydrates and green vegetables with a portion size being the same size as your clenched fist. Make a fist, ok that is your portion size from here on out. Simple, right? Of course it is, there is no need to make it harder than it has to be.

Add in some exercise by walking first thing in the morning, or when you get home from work or walk whenever you have some time. If you have a dog, even better, take your dog for a walk early and often. Now you both can get some exercise.

Don’t be afraid to do some weight lifting as well. There is no need to kill yourself here. Buy a few dumbbells and pick on exercise for each muscle group and do one set of 10 reps each.

This routine will get you started on your way to successful weight loss. The key to all of this is your nutrition routine. You must follow the proper nutrition if you want to have any chance of succeeding. Remember to drink at least 10 ounces of water with every meal to ensure your body gets an ample supply.

As with any health and nutrition program you should always consult your primary care physician and obtain a complete physical prior to starting.

  3. Great post!

  4. The only way to lose weight is to burn more calories in a days time than you consume. Then your body uses stored fat which over time leads to weight loss. Exercise burns calories and tones muscles.
