Eat Six Meals Per Day and Still Lose Weight

Eating smaller meals more often will help keep your metabolism functioning better which will actually help you lose weight. 

If this makes sense to you, stop reading and simply employ the practice. If you need more tips about this simple meal plan, read on. 

We all know the importance of a healthy breakfast to get our body and mind ready for the day. But did you know that eating a healthy mid-morning snack will also help you eat a better lunch? Eating a light snack between lunch and dinner ensures you don’t over-do it at the supper table either. Follow that with a healthy snack a few hours before bed and watch the pounds simply melt away. 

Notice I didn’t say to feast (pig out) for all (6) meals. 

Here’s a healthy and easy daily meal plan:

Breakfast: 

1 egg (or just whites if you want to be super health conscious)

1 piece of toast, light butter

1 piece of fruit

green tea

Mid-Morning Snack:

1 piece of low-fat cheese 

1 serving of almonds (24)

8 oz. water

Lunch: 

Small salad with protein (tuna, chicken, turkey)

8 oz. milk or water

Melba toast (2 pieces)

Mid-Afternoon Snack:

1 low-fat yogurt (Yoplait Yogurt makes choosing a yummy treat so easy)

Top that with a handful of fruit (raspberries, strawberries, blueberries)

Dinner: 

Protein (3-4 oz.) – chicken, steak, or fish

1 serving of fresh vegetables (steamed or raw)

1 serving of pasta or small baked potato

Evening Snack:

1 serving of sugar free jello topped with 1 tablespoon of whipped cream

The above meal plan only gives you one day worth of food. Mix it up a bit by trying these healthy choices:

Oatmeal

Granola

Many varieties of fruit (avoiding those high in sugar – even natural sugars can sabotage your weight loss) 

Use Olive Oil when cooking instead of butter

Peruse your grocery store spice aisle and try a different spice every night

Whole grain bread

Natural turkey from the deli

Mix up your veggies and try something new at least twice a week

The bottom line is to eat every few hours (sometimes called grazing) to keep your metabolism moving. Making healthy food choices will help you to lose those few extra pounds and you body will always be full of good food. 

Oh, and lest you think I’m living in a dream world – it’s completely acceptable to treat (don’t call it cheat) yourself to your favorite meal or snack. Just remember, everything in moderation and you’ll be feeling (and looking) fine in no time.

  16. I have implemented this tactic, and it is amazing what it does for losing weight. Apparently when you feel hungry your brain send a signal to your body to slow down, which basically slows your metabolism causing you to not burn as many calories.
