Fat Free Foods Can Make You Gain Weight

Sorry for all the people on a fat free diet. Yes this is a fact that many “Fat Free” foods are sometimes FILLED TO THE BRIM with fat.

I first heard about this in an article on the internet. It was talking about how to prevent weight gain. As I was reading through it, I read this part talking about how people got fatter by eating FAT FREE foods.

At that point, I was just astonished.

So then I did some research on this. Found some more articles about this weird thing. What I found was…..

It’s true. You can gain fat with fat free foods.

The first page I went to was that of the fitness guru Phil Kaplan. What I read there opened my eyes.

It turns out that sometimes this is a trick by the food industry. Overwhelmed already? Here, I’ll explain.

The FDA says that any food that has less than 1/2 a gram of fat per serving can be labeled as fat free.The only thing is, the food companies get to decide the serving size.

One example used by Phil Kaplan that I really was surprised by was nonstick fat free cooking spray. It was a really “comical”/”criminal” thing to him.The only main ingredient was liquid corn oil. However, take a bottle of Mazola Corn Oil, and…….. (guess what?)

There was one hundred twenty calories, all from fat.

So technically, there was less than 1/2 a gram in the small “serving” of cooking spray, making it “fat free” technically the amount of fat is proportional to the fat content of cooking oil.

Wow, right?

Yeah, this is exactly what I thought.
