Fifty reasons for weight gain. One way to lose it all!
This article is focuses on the main reasons for putting on weight with a tongue in the cheek. The answer is straight and to the point. You will need to read the article if you are sincere about wanting to lose weight. Otherwise it will follow you to the grave. End Denial. Lose weight your self. No Pills, No magic diets, no promises. You are the begining, the middle and the end.
I will be straight to the point. I have put on weight but I am not to blame. Here are the reasons.
- I have been contemplating losing weight since childhood but my Mum and Aunt said, “I looked a little chubby but there’s nothing wrong with that”. If they had not said that I would have lost weight.
- Yes, I really mean it. I would have lost weight, “but a few extra pounds don’t do any harm to anyone” Actually it I was told it “looked good”.
- We go to the Indian Restaurant once a month only.
- Then came the “middle age spread”. Somehow it seemed acceptable to be a little over weighed. The way it was described, to me, it seemed the natural thing to do and “Let it Be”.
- Then, of course, middle age spread is also a sign of prosperity where I grew up? Italy.
- Now I’m old and creped, a few pounds over weighed? Yes, quite a few pounds overweighed. I really mean that I am obese.
- What’s the problem, I am told I am expected to feel short of breath, a little under the weather, a little short of wind, you’ll be alright after a little break etc, you are not young any more!”
- So, you see, I have been trying to lose weight since childhood.
- I have not procrastinated. I have been told, since childhood, that it is alright.
- I have been told that the problem is related to my hormones. It is not my fault.
- I just had to be at graduation ball because it is once in a life time.
- The food in the food court is really cheap and delicious.
- I have been told that at dinner time I must eat, “it is antisocial not to eat”.
- I have to eat when my mother cooks because the food is delicious and it is really good for me.
- I must eat when a good movie is on because it is that much more enjoyable.
- We have to eat out at the Restaurant during the weekend because we have been doing since I was small.
- I had to eat at the party because it was my girlfriend’s birthday.
- When my Uncle bakes the cake, I have to eat it because it is “mouth watering”.
- I have put on the extra weight because my doctor prescribed me that medication which just, “adds on pounds and pounds.” Even the doctor expected it.
- All the foods I eat are “diet.”
- The coke I drink is “diet”
- The coffee does not contain many calories
- I use margarine for cooking. That is not fattening.
- I walked to the shops today.
- I enjoy a few cans of beer when I watch TV. That’s not fattening.
- My husband/wife is a good cook. I have to eat that.
- We cannot miss out on our weekend outing to the restaurant.
- When I see a cheese cake I must eat it because ……….
- I had to eat that cake because it contained Italian Wine, It was “a once in a lifetime thing”.
- I always eat at meal times.
- Small snacks are alright because they prevent gastric ulcers.
- I am on a “Carb. Diet” and it is working.
- I am on a protein diet and it is working.
- I have lost weight but the scales are faulty.
- My doctor said that my metabolism was slow.
- My doctor said because my parents we fat I will always remain fat.
- I drank that beer because it was light.
- My doctor said I am just the right weight.
- I love my crisps, one bag a day is not fattening.
- I had to eat at the wedding because the chef had come from Peking.
- It is alright to be a little overweight.
- Surely, you don’t put on weight with one piece of cake.
- The beef is home grown, so it is lean.
- I always buy lean meat.
- I only ate a muffin for snack
- Coke does not contain a lot of calories
- My mother always prepares bacon and eggs for breakfast.
- I am just tasting it, surely, that is not fattening.
- I ate that cake because my son/daughter sent if specially from Scotland.
- The whipped cream is not fattening, I am sure.

Today is day one of my weight loss program.
I had one cup of tea with sugar and milk at 08.00am before I left for work.
I did not have any cereal, I am aware that this is not what my doctor will recommend. It is my choice.
I had weighed myself yesterday (78.3Kg) so I chose not to weigh myself today.
At 10.00am I had a cup of coffee without milk and without sugar.
At tea time, I felt alright because I had my cup of coffee earlier on. I walked to the fridge. Look at it. Chose to live with my resoultion.
At lunch time I did not eat anything. Not even a small snack.
At about 4.00pm I ate 4 pieces of water melon. I am not sure of the calorie count but this is my way.
At dinner time, I ate rice with chicken curry. The veggie was green beans. It was delicious. I felt it was just a little salty. So, I will try and reduce the salt content.
I am feeling good. still on schedule. No excuses. No denial.

Well, it was more difficult than usual.
Morning tea with milk and sugar.
10.00 am coffee: black, no sugar.
Lunch: Felt hungry. Had one carrot to eat.
Evening tea: sandwitch, small. Attending open day at University.
For dinner, had Pizza Pizza, half glass red wine.
It’s been a long day. Ready to sleep.

I was really busy all day, did not have to think about food. My colleague who sits across me also had a busy day. You will find it hard but it is true. We were so busy, we only exchanged our morning greetings and did not say a thing, to each other each day.
My morning tea – usual, a little milk, one teaspoon of brown sugar.
AM tea – One cup of black coffee. No sugar, I do not keep sugar in my office. Coffee only.
Lunch time: Nothing to eat. Had a glass of plain water.
Evening tea. Feeling hungry. Had one cup of tea and a carrot.
Dinner. Noodles, one slice of bread, one sliced of bacon, a small amount of yughurt, half mango.
I am feeling alright. Still motivated. Have not weighed myself yet. I do feel lighter.
So far so good.
Good bye until tomorrow
The day went really well. I

You forgot, “But there’s a medical reason I’m overweight. It’s my genes!”
Shergill | Sep 16, 2006 | Reply
Thank you for reminding me. I am just as human as everyone else. I appreciate your input.
Losing weight, particularly when the genes are involved, is more difficult than it is for the average guy like me. You will need to work twice as hard as others. Occasionally, you (just like me) will fail. Remember, “You have not failed until you give up”. This was the motto of a Psychiatric unit where I worked. This motto worked for the people who were depressed. My feeling is that it may work for you if you can incorporate it into your thinking system.
Well, today was a great day for my. Since it is Saturday, I woke up at 08.00am, by 09.00am I was doing some reading at the University. I did not have a shower before I went to the University because I was the only mad one who would be there.
I was right.
In the afternood, I returned and we went grocery shopping for the week.
Now we are goig to plays squash. I will weigh myself tomorrow. I am positive, that I will have lost about 10 pounds.
My am tea was with milk and sugar, there was no lunch. I ate one carrot at 3.00pm as I was feeling hungry.
This is all for the time being.

Today my weight is 72.3 Kg
Down from 78.3 Kg.
I have lost 6.0 Kg in 22days. This is 4.0 Kilos less than what I planned. I did have some problems keeping to my diet plan. My biggest weakness is when I attend functions at my place of work. Also, I need to give up my bottle of beer I drink each evening – that will save me a few calories.

I now weigh 69Kg.
I have been at this weight for more than one month.
I no longer eat meats, I have cut off doughnuts and all polysaturated fats (HDL)
I do a five minute work out each day. This is not sufficient. I will try and increase it to 7 minutes over the next month or so!

I am still 68Kg.

Sona,
Do not surf the net to look for answers to your weight problems. I think you know the answer.
Make your mind up to eat less. You will save time, money and your good looks,
