We all dream of having a slim body, if not slim then fit body is mostly desired by all. We read a lot about ways to healthy living, watch fitness show, listen to expert advices for maintaining healthy body weight, but keeping all these various sources aside let’s take a thumbnail view on this issue.
- It’s okay to be a little bit plum: We are not talking about achieving that six packs or a perfect figure but we are here aiming at a fit body and a healthy body weight. Our body structures may vary, so aiming at a certain body type is a silly thing to do. It’s okay if you are slightly plum as long as you feel healthy and are active. Now the question comes as to how to maintain a healthy body weight, the answer is: if you are overweight you got to exercise and watch your diet and if you are not really overweight then too you should watch what you are eating. This means that you need to increase your daily intake of fruits and vegetable and minimize or completely avoid fatty food, especially fast food, soda and food high on trans fat.
- Regular workout: A 30 minutes of walk may do wonders for your metabolism. When your metabolism is right you will not gain weight, as whatever you will eat would be broken and digested. Aerobics, weights, running, jogging or yoga can really help in losing some extra pounds or maintaining a healthy body weight.
- Drinking lukewarm water: Drinking a glass or two of lukewarm water helps in losing weight. It kick starts the day perfectly, and if taken with two tea spoon of honey it could be more beneficial.
- Keep the body alkaline: Much has been talked about pH balance of the body and the explanation may come down to the fact that an alkaline body is a perfectly healthy body, and no disease can ever last in an alkaline body. On the contrary the acidic body is the one that is more susceptible to get sick. It doesn’t matter whether you are fat or skinny if your body is alkaline you are healthy and if it’s acidic, even if you are skinny you are at risk. Following an alkaline diet can help in reducing weight as it mainly comprises of fruits and vegetables, raw honey, almond, chestnuts, canola oil, olive oil, tea especially green tea, herbs, fish and beans. Highly acidic foods that should be avoided are cheese, homogenized milk, soda, chocolates, corn oil, cottage cheese and processed fruit juice to name a few.
- Take enough sleep: It is highly recommended to take at least eight to nine hours of sleep every night. Researches show that the amount of sleep that we get and also the quality of sleep may affect the hormonal activities tied to our appetite. Sleep induces regulated metabolism and makes a person less hungry that people who don’t get enough shut eye during the night.
- Be happy: According to Dr. Joe Vitale, author of “The Attractor Factor and Life’s Missing Instruction Manual” -A happy emotional state is the key to losing weight and obtaining physical fitness. Happy people burn more calories than those who are depressed or angry. Happy people tend to set a goal and work towards achieving the same. This makes them to take actions and burn more calories. While depressed or angry people sit idle and do nothing about the situation. They just fret and fume over the problem that bottle up their negative emotions, and make them eat more and get fat.
