Help! I Need to Gain Weight: Foods That Will Help You Gain Weight Fast
Tips on finding the best weight gain foods that will add healthy weight to an underweight or ultra lean frame.
GAIN WEIGHT FOOD TIPS
Gaining weight can be difficult for the naturally lean person who struggles to maintain a healthy weight. Just as there are many who need to reduce their calorie intake while change their diet in order to lose weight, the same goes for the underweight or ultra lean person who needs to gain. In other words, it takes work and careful meal planning to achieve results. No matter what your genetics or metabolism say about you, you can overcome those obstacles by eating for your genetic frame only. Here are some great healthy food ideas that will help pick up weight quicker.
Proteins & Omega 3:Aim to eat 4-6 meals per day that are high in natural proteins. Protein supplements like shakes and weight gainers are helpful (especially for the active athlete), but also keep in mind to eat snacks that are high in natural proteins and Omega 3 (properties found in fish oil that have tremendous health benefits). These foods include, but not limited to nuts, milk & eggs, pork, fish, and chicken. Eliminate or cut down on fried foods and more baked and sauteed goods. Eat lean meats cooked in olive oil or canola. Dress up your foods and naturally add in more calories by adding olive oil to your seeds and nuts as well. Keep in mind that foods high in protein are also a good source of omega 3. Up your nut intake to get the benefits of omega 3!
Milk and other Dairy Products:Milk and other dairy products really does a body good. The benefits of drinking at least 3 glasses a day can help drastically because the casein properties can identify a person who is severely deficient in vitamin D and calcium and work overt time to nourish the body resulting in a dramatic weight gain. Goat’s milk is probably the best one to consume because their health benefits are phenomenal.
Fresh Fruits & Veggies:Fruits & vegetables can be light foods but can help you gain weight faster if you use them in smoothies. Add in your favorite fruit and blend up smoothies with all egg whites (bought from store), and a tablespoon of fiber (wheat germ), and a tablespoon of flaxseed or fish oil to get the omega 3 benefits.
Juice and warm your favorite veggies to make an all natural V-8 blend and take either the juicer or the smootie with your favorite meals to add in healthier calories.
Whole Grain Foods:Whole grain are essential to gaining weight because they are nourshing, proving an underweight body with the necessary properties to gain weight. Eat breads and pasata’s that are not artifically enriched. Check food labels that only have whole grain wheat within the ingrediant. Eat whole grains every other meal with a glass of milk or smoothie/juicer.
Gaining healthy weight should not just be about overeating and stuffing yourself. Rather, you need to focus on consuming the correct amount of calories according to the body mass index (BMI) system. This does not mean obsess over calories, but estimate how much you need in order to gain 2-5 pounds per week. Instead of focusing and stressing over your calorie intake, solely focus on eating healthy as the calories will come if you simply eat 4-6 meals per day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner with three small snacks in between) and dress up your foods with olive oil, fruit toppings, and other healthy fillers.
