Gone were the days when I could do more than 30 sit-ups in one minute. Nowadays, even 10 sit-ups are difficult for me. As I was trying to find ways to flatten my tummy, I found out that sit-ups may not necessarily do so. At the same time, I realised there are other ways to flatten my tummy.
Why Sit-ups May Not Work For You
If you have lots of fats around your tummy, sit-ups may not work to flatten your tummy. Sit-ups help to tighten your stomach muscles. But it would not eliminate the fats surrounding your waist. You may have a six-pack abs but nobody would see it. So, if sit-ups don’t work, what can you do to flatten your tummy?
Go on a Diet
There are many diets in the market. You can choose from a low-carb or high-protein diet to help you lose weight and the fats around your tummy. You just have to ensure that the diet you follow is a well-balanced one.
Jogging is a good form of exercise. It’s not my favourite, but if it is going to help me to flatten my tummy, I’m going to do it. Jogging does not only help you to lose fats around your tummy, but it also helps to lose fat all over your body. Furthermore, as you jog or run, you need to tighten your stomach muscles to propel you forward and ensure that you stay in the upright position. So, jogging or running helps to achieve two important things – lose tummy fat and tighten your stomach muscles.
To ensure that your jog or run is effective, you need to do it for 20 minutes to half an hour. If you want to make this exercise more effective, you can do 30-second sprints and intermittent it with you regular-paced jogging.
With the understanding of what works and what doesn’t, you are on your way to a flat tummy!
