How to Gain Weight

If you really want to gain weight, ask someone who’s walked your shoes. Here are some guidelines for achieving that goal.

There are millions of articles on the internet that describe various ways for loosing weight. Weather it is a cabbage soup diet or numerous other diets that have only one purpose – to starve you to death. And yes, to loose weight. What about the other side of the medal? What about all those people who have a problem gaining weight? One thing is for sure, it’s as equally hard to gain as it is to loose weight. No matter how strange this might seem to you.

Not really. As a matter of fact, don’t even try to. Although fast metabolism is responsible for your small weight, you’ll just have to let it go. It’s something you’ve inherited from your parents and it’s probably going to slow down with time. So leave it. What you really need to focus on are the things that you can control. Key words are decision and discipline. No matter how high your goal is, you need to stick to it. And with gaining weight it sure does pay off at the end. Once you’ve decided that this time you’re going to stick to be disciplined in getting to yours goal, you’re off to the next step. Action!

What am I supposed to do first?

Okay, first step in gaining weight was making a decision. So this is kind of a second step. Now you need a plan, a good plan, but not very detailed one because it will take a lot of your time. Many people like to write down their plans. And that’s a due to a very simple fact that humans like to visualize before acting. So it’s up to you to decide weather will it be on a peace of paper, in your palm top, or simply stored in your head. And remember, it’s not in the plan, but in sticking to it.

And it’s time to start…

This is a step where you actually fill in your plan with activities. Just keep in mind that gaining weight is not just a mind process, it’s a hard work that you must do. There are two things that will make a difference between yours current and future looks: food and exercise. You need to place in your plan at least five meals per day, three main meals and two snacks. Okay, this sounds a lot for many people. But just one apple makes a perfectly good snack between main meals. And during the whole process of gaining weight you need to exercise. Start with basic warm up exercises and stick to it. The best time for exercises is morning. After a couple of days you can start with push-ups and squat exercise for lower body. Don’t use any weights, because no one is trying to become a heavy builder over here. Exercising is very important because you don’t want all that food on yours belly or bottoms. You want it evenly distributed.

Over time I’ve heard so many advices how to gain weight and they all included that famous line: “Concentrate on calories”. Actually, that is true, but if you really want to focus on calories, you’re going to be occupied with this activity whole day during entire process of gaining weight. Instead of this, you just need some good ideas of what to eat.

Ideas for Menu

Be creative and follow the logic…

Breakfast: Cereal with milk, egg white with yogurt. Egg yolk has too much cholesterol so avoid it.

Snack: Apples, bananas, candies, ice creams.

Lunch: Tuna fish sandwich, biscuits. 

Dinner: Pasta, delicious lasagna and Bolognese, white chicken meat (breast) with potatoes and rice.

When to start?

No time like the present…

Start today, don’t wait and don’t make any excuses. Remember what the first step was – decision. What if you miss out one meal or if you skip morning exercises? Don’t panic. Just don’t let those things to happen often. Be disciplined all the way to your goal.
