How to Lose Weight After Childbirth

Weight gain is to be expected during child bearing and after childbirth. You body naturally get an increased appetite because you really are essentially eating for two, yourself and the baby. Once you baby is born, however, then it is time to immediately lose the weight for good weight.

Step One:  Follow the exercise regiment that the hospital or midwife gave you after childbirth.  Make the daily exercise a routine so that you can get back into good health and take better care of yourself and your newborn.  Listen to your doctor and follow instructions certain not to begin to exercise until you are told that it is safe to do so.

Step Two:  Continue to take the prenatal medications until depleted.  Reduce your caloric intake to about 1400 or 1800 daily.  Eat fresh or frozen foods and avoid food that are canned and full of sodium.  Like the subway restaurant commercial advertises, eat fresh.  Eat fresh or frozen foods and avoid foods that are preserved for the groceries benefit and not for yours.  Canned foods even when labeled low sodium,  puts unneeded and unhealthy water weight gain on your body because of  sodium content.

Step Three:  Include your new baby in your exercise routine.  There are exercises advertised on line of Fitness magazine that can help you choose the appropriate exercises for you and your baby.  Your baby can help you to lose weight by providing some of the weight stress needed to build muscle as well as to lose weight.
