As we grow older, our metabolism slows down.  We find it hard to lose those extra pounds already.  Even just a few extra carbohydrates would make us gain weight, and make us bigger.  At work, there are many eating opportunities that would increase our chances of getting bigger if we don’t discipline ourselves – luncheon meetings, meeting-up with a client, dining out with officemates after a long and tiring day at work, company parties and many more.  We also tend to eat a lot when hungry and under a lot of pressure.  It makes us feel better. It is our escape from the daily pressures at work.

Majority of us wants to lose those extra fats in our body.  The corporate world is very competitive and it is always a challenge to look good.  Having a healthy, well-proportioned body with all the curves in the right place improves our self-esteem and self-confidence.  For some, more work comes in when they look great and in proper shape.

Below are some of the natural ways to lose those extra pounds. There are many over the counter remedies but it is always best to do it naturally.  This will decrease our chances to experience the harmful side-effects brought about by the too much harmful chemicals that enter our body.

Green Tea. Green tea is a popular way to slim down.  Many women drink green tea regularly. It helps them lose unwanted fats.  So, how is this possible ?  According to the results of the study conducted at the University of Geneva in Switzerland, green tea has the capacity to raise the metabolic rate and speed up fat oxidation of our body.  It contains catechin polyphenols which raises thermogenesis.  This is the rate at which calories are being burned in the body. When the burning of fats in our body is increased, it means a healthier you and it makes us achieve our goal of a slimmer body faster.

L-Carnitine. L-Carnitine increases the use of fat as an energy source in the body.  It transports fatty acids into the mitochondria. Here, fats are “burned “ to release energy for the many body functions.  The more we drink our favorite refreshment with L-Carnitine, the better are the benefits to the body.

Barley. Barley juice also aids in proper and natural weight loss.  Drinking Barley juice daily will give you a feeling of fullness in your stomach.  Thus, your urge to eat is lessened.  Some people substitute water by drinking Barley juice daily.

Vitamin B3 (Riboflavin). Vitamin B3 helps speed up the body’s metabolism.  It helps in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins in the body. It is also a good contributing factor to losing weight.

Proper Exercise and Conditioning. Exercising daily is very important not only to maintain a well-toned body but also to keep our body away from diseases.  Walking for an hour daily will help a lot in burning those extra pounds.  It conditions the heart too and keeps our bodies alive.

You Are What You Eat. Eat foods rich in fiber.  Fiber eliminates toxins in our body.  Some of these toxins are the fats accumulated inside our body.  Eating a high-fiber diet like fruits and vegetables lessens your fat intake and also cleanses your internal organs. This also gives you a clearer complexion.

Losing weight is possible if only we have the right self-discipline.  If we follow a strict daily diet of fruits and vegetables, a few of proteins and a moderate intake of carbohydrates combined with the useful nutrients above, our dream of a healthier and more beautiful figure will be achieve sooner.
