Losing Weight for Health
Lose weight in a healthy way, not a crazy fad way.
Losing weight doesn’t have to be hard, and it shouldn’t be unhealthy, I have personal friends who eat unhealthily because they think it will help them lose weight. A good example is my friend who pounds down the coffee and uses lots of artificial sugar, both of which are terrible for your body, but she says “Drinking coffee isn’t fattening, I don’t care if it’s not healthy I just want to lose weight”.
This is an absolutely wrong way to think about weight, if you’re doing this to look good but don’t care about your health you are doing it for the wrong reasons. We all want to look good, but the important thing is to be healthy. An important thing to remember is that a healthy body drops weight in a healthy manner, this means that eating and drinking unhealthy things makes your body not work as good, therefore you won’t lose weight the way you’d like.
Being unwholesome to your body will backfire; you won’t lose weight and you won’t feel good. It’s important to find ways of being fit and healthy without taking pills, diet shakes and things that you know very well are unhealthy. Let’s not fool ourselves; we’re not stupid, we just have to think about making the right choices.
Now I want everyone to try it the hard way, and yes it is the hard way, there is no easy solution we just have to live a healthy lifestyle. Eat right (and you know what “right” really means) see a nutritionist or a naturopath, these professionals know what is good and bad and can help you. Exercise; get some cool videos. I use “Turbo Jam” and “Dance it off Ballroom”, these are fun and work you like nothing else! Work out with friends, go for walks, it doesn’t have to be back breaking, just be active. Now get out there and be healthy!
