Natural Weight Loss

Trying to lose weight and just can’t get those pounds to disappear? Try losing weight the natural way.

Many people are over weight and want to lose those unwanted pounds, whether they are 10 lbs. or 100 lbs.  The most important thing to remember when losing weight is that “Miracle diets and fat burning pills” do not work.  The only way to successfully lose weight is to watch you intake of calories and burn more than you take in. 

 The most important thing to remember before you begin any exercise or diet plan is to ask you doctor.  Your doctor may have options for you.

Losing weight should be a life change, not a fad that you stay on for a few weeks.  Losing weight and keeping weight off is going to be a life time job. 

In order to be successful, you need change your eating habits.  Choose healthy foods that are low in calories and filling.  High fiber foods will fill you up and fight of hunger.  Drinking plenty of fluids is also important; drinking an eight ounce glass of water before your meal is a natural filler.  You feel full and will eat less. 

 Eating slower is also important.  Take time to actually taste your food.  Chew it well and enjoy it!  Eating more smaller meals during the day is more effective than eating three big meals, it keeps you from feeling hungry during the day.  Eating more fruits and vegetables is also a good idea. 

If you have a craving, don’t deprive yourself, if you want some chocolate, have some, just don’t over indulge yourself.  If you happen to “fall of the wagon,” get back on.  Don’t feel guilty, just get back to business the next day!

Perhaps the most important weight loss tip is exercise!  Exercise can be anything from walking, to aerobics.  Walking three times a week for 3o minutes can help you lose weight.  Don’t choose an exercise you hate, you will only get discouraged and stop.  If you like walking, take a walk.  Enroll in that dance class you’ve always wanted to take.  Any extra exercise will help.

 Weigh yourself each week.  Your weight fluctuates daily, so once a week will do.  Try to weigh yourself at the same time each week, first thing in the morning, after you use the restroom is usually best.

Set goals for yourself and reward yourself when you reach them.  Remember, losing weight too fast is not healthy.  Losing an average of 2 lbs a week is normal, or about 10 lbs a month.

Stay focused and positive, it’s important to have support.  Find a buddy or a group and lose weight together.  What ever works best for you, you won’t only look better, but you’ll feel better too!
