Newly Discovered Methods to Stay Thin
So you’ve dieted all you could, exercised till you dropped, but now are getting temptations to eat all you can? Below are some newly discovered methods to help you avoid eating.
Self-Affirmation
Whenever you want to eat, get a paper and a pen. Write “I , Jane Smith, do not want to eat,” or ” You, Jane Smith, are repulsed by food,” or ” Jane Smith is not hungry”. Keep writing variations like these in all three perspectives, until you no longer feel you need to.
Changing Your Views
If you feel like eating, think about the food you want to eat. Think of how many calories it has, how much fat. Then think of how it will impact your weight. Then think if in a few days, you’ll be regretting it if you eat that food. Keep saying “I hate that food, it’s terrible and ugly.” Soon, you should feel as though you don’t want to eat it.
Create A Friend!
If you feel hungry, create an imaginary friend, and discuss things with him or her. Things like politics, food, games, or anything would be alright. By doing this, you’ll get a second opinion about everything, and most likely will be able to resist eating.
Fill It With Water
If you’re still feeling you want to eat something… drink instead! Not alcohol, of course, but water. It should help you feel less hungry, and will last a while. Besides, it has no calories, no sugar, no fat, and dieticians recommend it!
To The Chew Toy!
Another good way to not eat is to have a handy chew toy to glomp that will fill your mouth whenever you feel like eating. Just put it in your mouth and bite. Chew for a while, until you feel you can manage not eating. If you don’t feel that way, just keep it in your mouth until you go to sleep (or until your next meal).
Alert! Alert!
Create an “alert word” for whenever you feel hungry and find yourself walking toward that cupboard or fridge. Use the alert word ( for example “Bedspread!”, or “Curtain!”), and turn the other way. Soon, you should find yourself automatically hearing your alert word in your head whenever you start moving toward the fridge.
