The Superhero Foods That Fight Evil Fat
Find out which foods that have special qualities that actually fight fat! Why it works and how it works.
You know cutting calories is a great way to go in the battle of the bulge. But that only looking at the number of calories is in an overly simplified way to look at food. After all, 100 calories of apple equals 100 calories of chocolate, but obviously there are benefits to one over the other.
To really help you lose weight, pick the foods with superpowers! If you think about it, you’re realize you already know about how some foods have unique “abilities”. Carrots help your eyesight, fish is good for your brain, milk strengthens your bones, etc.
But what about foods with the superpower to destroy fat?!
Below is a list of some of the foods that researchers say will help you lose weight more quickly than other foods.
Go nuts for ALMONDS. Well, don’t go too nuts, just 12 almonds a day is all you need to get the benefits of its fat killing superpower. Nuts can also be high in fat, so you don’t want to mindlessly eat a whole bag of almonds while vegging out on the couch. I find snacking on just a handful of almonds with a cup of coffee makes for a very nice afternoon snack.
STRAWBERRIES and RASBERRIES are both sweet choices. These superpower fruits give you an extra fat-burning push when you exercise. You can mix these up with yogurt for a nice smoothie drink. Top off your cereal with them. Just think of these berries as a sort of super vitamin before you hit the gym – sort of like spinach is to Popeye.
Add a dash of CINNAMON to anything…and everything. The reason why may surprise you. Apparently right after you eat a meal, your body is deciding what food to burn and what food to store as fat. And if you’re like me, it would seem the “store as fat” option is chosen way too much. Cinnamon is supposed to step in at this time, and make your body want to choose “burn” instead of “store”. So, dash it on oatmeal, in your coffee, on apples, or even try it on toast.
And finally, be sure to fill up on FIBER. Let’s say you ate a 200 calorie candy bar. Most likely in just an hour or two, you’d be hungry again. If instead you had 200 calories of a fiber-rich food, you’re more likely to stave off hunger a lot longer.
The trick to adding fiber to your diet is to find the fiber you like. If you force yourself to eat oatmeal when you hate oatmeal… it’s going to take a LOT of willpower to stick with it. There are lots of foods high in fiber – like peas, bulger corn, brown rice and beans.
So among all these foods, find the ones you like… and re-try those foods you gave up on long ago. You may find you now love corn! Or that cinnamon really does taste good on your cereal. Trying to lose weight is hard to do. Make sure you arm yourself with as many superpower abilities as you can.
