The Truth About Philippines Fit ‘n Right Weight Loss Craze
The Fit ‘n Right drink is not everything it promises. Find out the truth behind their wonder substance L-Carnitine.
Everybody loves a little commercialism especially when it helps you lose weight. I mean in end we are getting the life saving information from the television commercials that tell us that we can indeed lose weight through drinking their product. In focus right now is the newest Philippines weight loss craze caused by the Fit ‘n Right franchise by Del Monte. In the town that I am living called Dumaguete, the drinks are sold out on every corner and suppliers are having hard times to please the ever growing demand for the Fit ‘n Right drink. The main question however is why do people buy it? The answer is quite simple; because the drink promises weight loss and people are convinced to lose great amounts of weight by just drinking the juice.
The more important topic that has to be discussed is if the content L-Carnitine really helps in the weight loss of adults. The drink contains 300mg L-Carnitine and the drink advertises that it may help burn fat. Carnitine is a natural amino acid that can be found in our body especially in our organs such as the liver or the kidneys. The task of this amino acid is to transport lipids which are fats and turn them into energy. This would mean that Carnitine helps the metabolism and helps weight loss. Studies in the US however have shown that neither men nor women have had any significant weight loss upon taking increased levels of Carnitine. If you want to lose weight, you do not merely have to buy this drink, but you can also fiend Carnitine in foods such as red meats, wheat, vegetables, fruits and seeds. You will even be surprised to know that ice cream has Carnitine.
There is no doubt that the Fit ‘n Right drinks will supplement you with sufficient amount of Carnitine for your daily needs, but it will definitely not help you in weight loss. Now, you probably have been using Fit ‘n Right drinks for a long time and you have proven your point by losing a great amount of weight. The rather mundane explanation for that is that Fit ‘n Right drinkers believe in the effects and psychologically start working towards the effects. It is the belief that the substance itself works and this causes weight loss. You might as well save the extra pesos and believe that your daily work out will make you lose weight.

5 years ago, i weighed 200 lbs (my height is 5′7). But with exercise (jogging/running in the oval 3 times a week) and proper diet, i lowered my weight to 165 lbs. There is no magic formula. Although, there are times my weight will increase but it will not reach the 175 lb mark. Recently, i bought a motorized treadmill and exercise at home. i spent 4-5 hours in the machine a week.In sum, exercise and diet will do the trick.

a year ago, when i first tried fit n’ right, my weight was about 240 lbs. i’m not planning on losing any weight at that time, i just love the taste of the apple flavor. i don’t exercise at home, just doing my everyday routine of browsing the net, then going to work. also, i don’t have a steady diet, i just eat what i like (mostly pasta and seafoods, and some vegetables, pork, and beef). a few months later, most of my friends keep telling me that i’m loosing some weight, and later noticed that my pants started to become more loose. i just continue drinking it, usually 2 bottles a day, and i get positive results. now, my weight is 190 lbs, that is about 50 lbs of weight loss. i’m not sure if fit n’ right really helps me lose all that weight, but i’m sure that i have achieved it without doing any exercise and a steady diet.

btw, i started doing some crunches since last month, and tried avoiding high calorie foods. just wanted to try if it will help me lose weight faster, and if i could keep up with this extra work (exercise/diet).

From experience, with just sitting all day in the office.. no diets no work-outs.. unaware that fit n right may do the trick.. it did for me.. i lost 10 lbs in a month. you may not believe it.. but it happened to me.. I really don’t care bout the L-carnitine substance.. I can plainly get it direct from that food supplement Juday is advertising.. I just love the pineapple drink that it is. The weight-loss factor is just an added bonus.

I agree with the author. I can’t believe that after all the tests, which prove that L-Carnitine does not actually make you lose weight, people are still in a daze to think that it helped them lose weight. I have friends who did take fit n’ right but did not lose weight. And friends who are doctors also say so based on their studies.
It is all in the mind.

thanks for all the comments…the thing with Filipinos is that the drinks the companies are all for the masses and the majority of the masses is uneducated. The educated ones are not part of the mass therefore i kinda agree with the 90% cuz there are only 10% educated people in the Philippines. The masses here just believe in anything you try to sell them. Personally Fit and Right doesnt work for me and I hit the gym every day. I’ve lost weight without it and I just lost the same amount with using it. It all also depends on your eating habits and life style. I love the tanduay comment…imma try that soon…

well, i experienced drinking it for two nights.
i wasn’t planning to use at as a weight loss drink. i just love the fact that it has an awesome taste which quenched my thirst and its also helped me to satisfy my craving for sweet. but then, the product may helped me lose that extra kilos. before i started i weighed 73 kilos (na one month steady weight ko na yan kahit nag work out ako every day). after two nights with one hour bike exercise i lost 3 kilos. now im 70 kilos. (from oct 6-7, 2009).
so i think it works.
