Are you ready to start loosing weight? These are the golden rules to live by..
- Never, ever skip breakfast. This is the worst mistake people make. People say to themselves” I’m not going to eat because I want to lose weight.” This is not the way to go about it. You need to eat to lose weight. Studies show that people who eat in the morning are less heavy than people who skip breakfast. The morning is the time you should be eating the most. Your body burns more calories during the hours of 7am – 10am. In addition, eating speed up your metabolism. This is the rate at which you burn calories from fat. Eating during this time also curbs your appetite during the day. You will less prone to eat during the evening. The temptation for that “Midnight snack won’t be as overwhelming.
- Eat in moderation. For example, instead of having five donuts for breakfast and 6 slices of pepperoni pizza for lunch have a variety of food for each time. For breakfast try having a balance of carbohydrates, fruits, and proteins. A healthy breakfast could be a whole grain wheat bagel with cream cheese along with two egg whites and mixed berries. (IE. blue berries, strawberries, and raspberries.). Finish it off with a cold glass of orange juice. Green tea is also a very good beverage to have. This is a way to make sure your body gets a little bit of everything it needs to run smoothly.
- Practice portion control. Do this by putting less food on your plate when you eat. For lunch try having 6 ounces of tuna fish, 6 salt less saltine crackers, some leafy green salad with olive oil and 5 baby carrots. This is a light lunch to have. If you want to add a small serving of fruit that is fine as well.
- Exercise 3 to 4 days a week for a half an hour between the times of 7am and 10am. Exercise is vital if you want to lose weight. You burn more calories in the morning than at night. Doing it increases your metabolism and helps you burn calories hours after you finish. It’s good for your heart and muscles. It also increases endorphins that make you feel good. In the morning I wake up at 7am sharp and do some stretches, then move on to some Pilate’s. This is a great way to target those trouble spots.
- Get a good night sleep. Studies have shown that people who do not get the daily 6 to 8 hours tend to be heavier than those who do. Recharge that battery of yours. Go to sleep at the same time every night. Avoid watching television before you go to bed.
If you follow these simple guidelines, you will be on your way to a new you.
