Trust Yourself When Choosing a Diet

Informational context on choosing the best diet plan.

As a professional dieter, there are a few specifics that should not be ignored, but the most important key to a successful diet plan, is knowing you. Let me help you, get to know you, by sharing my experiences.

It is easy to be fooled by advertisements or mislead by your friends. Personally, I have been aroused by commercials promising certain methods or substances to shed pounds. Truth is, if there was some sort of “Super Pill” that could guarantee weight loss for every one, would there be an obesity problem? The answer is obvious and quite simple; NO. So, instead of wasting endless dollars on weight loss programs or your time researching diet plans, get to know yourself first.

First , look at what diet plans or fitness programs have failed you in the past? Myself, I’m a carbohydrate lover. So, obviously when I tried the Adkins Diet, It failed me. Sure, at first I lost the quick ten pounds, but within months I was up twenty. Not exactly a victory. In fact, this defeat left me feeling sad and I became down on myself. I felt as though I failed.
Realistically, the eating plan was just not for me. A more practical diet for a carb lover, such as myself, would be a diet that allows the indulgence of the foods I crave such as Weight Watchers, or a low fat diet.

Second, when and where do you find your self eating badly? Individually, I eat the worst in the evening when I go out to dinner with friends. It is easy to be tempted by the horrible eating habits of others. Just because your best friend, Gina, can eat a whole plate of Nachos with out gaining a pound, doesn’t mean you can. The best solution, if you cannot pass up the temptation, is to politely refuse the dinner invitation or invite friends over for a healthy dinner.

Third, what fitness plan fits your lifestyle? What form of activity excites you? Many people when deciding to start a weight loss plan, rush off to open a gym membership. Certainly, a gym membership offers a very social atmosphere and a great opportunity to get into shape, but maybe that isn’t the answer for you. Exercises such as biking, skating, and walking don’t cost a thing and offer a dissimilar view.

Last, when deciding to take the plunge into the weight loss frenzy, consider the most important variable, you.
