Using Video Games to Lose Weight

How video games can help youto lose weight.

Some video games out there on the market are much interactive in nature than being just a game. Video games offer a variety of choice from educational to action/adventure, horror, some though seem to lay emphasis more on exercise/sport games which offer gamers sport experience on a TV screen. Some examples are the WII workout games or the Eyetoy Kinetic on Playstation 2 (will give more details on the Eyetoy kinetic later) which come with a healthy message giving both adults and kids the possibility to exercise their body. It’s a “2 in 1″ thing.  Gamers can play and have fun and at the same time workout their muscles and burn a bit of fat.

If you are too busy playing games that you don’t want to go out for jogging or after a long and stressful day at work/school you want to be with your family-no need to worry anymore because modern technology is the alternative to cover you.

Compare to Jane Fonda’ workouts that parents and grandparents used to watch, those games are high-tech, state-of-the-art products designed to get kids as well as adults alike to tone up their muscles without leaving their high definition television and the comfort of their home. 

With parents always worried about their children’s behaviour with regards to games and manufacturers of video game worried that their consumers might actually get too much sun exposure, they have therefore come up with the idea to combine and create the workout video games.

Eye Toy Kinetic on Play Station2

The Eye Toy kinetic is an exercise program designed to help players improve their health and fitness using a variety of exercise games. It comes with a small video camera to place on top of the T.V. The camera is then plugged into your PS2 and translates your movements onto the screen and you can watch yourself. Here you can tone up the abdominal, upper and lower body muscles. Increase strength and stay healthy. 

Other Eye kinetic toys are the: Combat zone, Body and Mind zone and the Cardio zone.

The Nintendo WII Tennis game helps as a workout as well and you can get so active that you will start  burning excess of fat. It’s good for endurance, tones and strengthens the heart. Besides it also improves the coordination of the arms and eye movement.

Dance Video Games

The DDR (Dance Dacne Revoluiton). Turn your room into a club dance platform. Exercises are too hard? You prefer dancing? Video game has it. Another way to lose weight and shed off those fatty deposit around the waist and flatten the tommy. The Dance Video game offers kids and adult the opportunity to dacne. If you are not a good dancer then you will become one. The DDR helps you synchronise you movement according to the beat and rhythm of the music.

If you want to lose weight within the comfort of your house and have fun at the same time then video games can help you achieve that. As you can see all impossibilities are now possible. Its up to you to make the most of it.
