Watch Your Weight

Weight loss is all about control and exercise. Here are some tried and tested tricks that helped me lose six kilos in two months that I’m sure these will help you too.

The moment you step out of your home, you’re flooded with tough choices – burgers dripping with unhealthy fat, doughnuts with that glaze calling out to you, so how do you make a decision? If you’re a strong willed person, you’ll definitely win the weight loss game with a diet plan, but my experience tells me that most people find the amazing variety of food irresistible and stray away during dieting. You don’t really have to torture yourself this way. Here are some tricks which have helped me and am sure they will help you too:

  • Don’t diet, just cut back and reduce your portions. Instead of taking four slices of bread, take two. The trick is here is to satiate the mind than the stomach. In most cases, we’re usually feeding the mind.
  • Your coffee decoction should go into slim milk and not regular milk
  • Walk, walk, walk as much as you can and as often as you can. So what if your house is on the 10th floor, walk it so you burn it and it’s all the more better if you live in one of those high rise buildings. You wouldn’t have to go jogging in the park, you can just go from floor 40 to floor 1.
  • Build up on the fibre. Take fibre rich foods to balance out the junk you eat. Start with two helpings of fruit every day and move them to four.
  • If you’re overweight, walk for at least an hour everyday and reduce the amount of oil you cook your food in
  • Switch to olive oil, it is rich in MUFAs unlike other cooking oils
  • Chew gum for 15 minutes after and before lunch
  • Never skip meals because then you tend to ply on junk food throughout the day
  • Become search engine friendly and look for healthy variations of your favourite recipe

Remember, health is not only about weight loss. Being fit reduces the chances of high blood pressure, cholesterol trouble and makes you more active.
