Weight Calculation Standards with Brocca

Weight Calculation Standards With Brocca.

Brocca making the definition of ideal weight by the formula:

(Height – 100) – 10% (Height – 100)

Brocca measurement method is already well known among ordinary people because they are most easily understood and used. So many are assuming that if weight loss is just a little above the Brocca then someone already feel fat. Brocca is actually more appropriate calculation applied to adolescents and young adults. If applied to people who are older are often less appropriate, because in addition to height and weight there are many other factors that must be considered.

Factors not accounted for in standard Brocca, among others, the body frame is different for each person; composition of muscle, fat, and water are different. In fact, this difference was evident from the difference between the sexes. Example: women tend to have higher fat composition than men. Conversely, men have more muscle composition.

In addition, physical activity will also affect a person’s body composition. Someone who has a habit of regular exercise will have the composition muscles more than the person who did not exercise. Age is also a factor to consider. With the increasing age of a person, will decrease physical activity and decreased basal metabolism.
