Weight Loss Blog: 15/2

At uni.

As you probably know by now, my days at uni are never the healthiest that they could possibly be. The problem is that there is no way that I am able to cook anything decent in my boyfriend’s flat as he doesn’t have much by way of cutlery and, because of this, it means that I have to make the most of what he has and just concentrate on making the most out of what I have in order to not eat far too much when I don’t need to do so.

One of the things that I quite like about the days that I am in uni is that I have to get up early and walk to my lectures, and this is always at least 40 minutes of exercise per day which is just perfect for me as it forces me to do the exercise. Last year, I might have taken a taxi from the train station instead, but I really have brought things a lot better for myself this year and decided that I was going to walk everywhere instead. It is a lot better because it means that I am walking more and therefore burning a lot more calories than I might have done in the past.

I got a little bit of sad news today. One of the girls at uni who I had got close friends with over the course of the past year has made the decision that she is going to leave. She is no longer enjoying the course and doesn’t feel as though she can do herself justice, so has chosen to finish this year and continue somewhere else instead next year. It came as a blow to us because we’ll miss her, although none of us are particularly surprised by the decision. The reason that I am writing that is because it has impacted negatively on my mood and, if this is my blog, it is important that I am honest about my thoughts and feelings during the course of everything that happens in my life.

I still had a lot of Valentine’s chocolate left today, and my boyfriend’s brother came round in the evening for a chat and he was a bad influence on me encouraging me to open the chocolates and eat some of them. When he left, I ended up eating the rest of the chocolates which had a lot of calories in but, at the end of the day, they had to be eaten at some point so it makes sense that they get eaten now and not spread it out over a large number of days as I think that my body would have been able to store more of the fat from it that way. The sooner it is all gone, the sooner I am going to be able to get back to my regime and finish this. I only have four more pounds that I have to lose before I am a “normal” BMI, and I will admit that I am incredibly excited about that being the case.
