A simple way to lose weight in the coming year.

It is that time of the year – the time when people make resolutions for the coming year.  Unsurprisingly, the most popular resolution is to lose weight.  The world is getting increasingly unfit with every third person battling obesity.  Looking good and making a favorable impression is important to all of us.  Therefore losing excess fat has become the numero uno priority.  There are many cosmetic and medical benefits associated with looking fit and so this can not be ignored.  Information overload has made losing weight very confusing.  There are so many training and diet strategies in the market and many of them contradict each other.  A person is left wondering how to lose the bulging belly or the love handles.

The only way to succeed at any thing in life is to plan meticulously.  The perfect plan to lose weight is four fold

1.                  Motivation

2.                  Exercise

3.                  Diet

4.                  Supplements

The last one is optional.  It is just like oiling a machine for optimum working.  One can lose weight without supplements, but the supplements definitely make weight loss easy and smoother.

Motivation: Well this is simple.  Every great achiever always knows well in advance what his goal is.  Picture yourself in your mind with the body you want.  Carry this mental picture of yourself every where – your office, the mall, and of course to your gym.  Visualization is important and will help you succeed.  You may have failed earlier in your attempt at weight loss, this visualization will help you towards your goal.

Exercise : Every one knows that the key to weight loss is exercise along with a balanced died.  Choosing the correct exercise methodology will make the goal achievable.  Nutritionists and doctors stress that weight training combined with correct aerobic exercise is the best and fastest way to lose fat.  Weight training has many benefits like increase of metabolic rate, improving bone density and strengthening the joints.  Aerobics provides the toning which is essential.

Diet :  This is the most important thing.  Unfortunately dieting has received a lot of bad press and is surrounded by many myths.  Dieting is not eating less or starving.  The very simple advice here would be eating smaller meals, avoiding junk food, simple carbohydrates and alcohol.  A balanced diet comprising of proteins sourced from diary and animal sources, complex carbohydrates from cereals and vegetables and fiber from salads and fruits always works.  Its also important to drink lots of water.

Supplements : They help if taken in correct amounts and at correct times.  Whey proteins are a good way to add protein to the dient without the unwanted fat and carbohydrates.  There are diet pills too that boost metabolic rate.  It is important to take medical advise while starting on any supplement.
