Why Diets Don’t Work
You will soon find out why diets dont work.
There are a lot of people who go on diets and midway through the diet, they just stop and do not continue(you have to wait for it). They find that it is either not sustainable or that it does not work for them.
A diet plan is normally supposed to work by reducing caloric intake and consuming low fat, low sugar and low carbohydrate diets. It is also supposed to work in a way where the body efficiently converts consumption into energy and not store them as fat deposits.
When you go on a low fat diet, it will work out in the short run; however, in the long run it does not work out since there will be a shortfall in energy generated from fat making the body tired and listless.
The same is true of a low carbohydrate diet. Carbohydrates provide energy to the body. By drastically educing carbohydrates, the body goes into a starvation phase.
It will then adopt the survival mode to tide through it. As a result, it could lead to a thyroid malfunction. This will make it more difficult to lose weight and on a gradual basis lead to piling on of pounds.
A low fat or a low carbohydrate diet will therefore in the short run result in fast paced weight loss. In the long run, though, the body starts to level out and you will not see any visible further changes. It results in lack of energy. This phenomenon in turn will urge you to eat more to make up for the lost nutrition.
This then becomes cyclical and results in weight gain. This is called yo-yo dieting. In other words, there is a constant battle of the bulge.
Healthy modifications, adopting a healthy lifestyle, balanced and nutritious diet along with an exercise program will help lose and keeping wait in the long run. It is important to have a consistent schedule of exercise and a watchful eye on consumption to get the best out of your diet.
