Why is it so hard to loose weight? Bet you searched for this on the Web to see if your results would pull up the answer you were finally waiting to find.
But, exactly why its so hard to loose weight is something that takes more understanding that just a quick response.
Detailed below is my first hand realization of why its so hard to loose weight.
I consider myself a pretty admirable person. I’ve always has the nice outfits, the look that left people commenting me everywhere I went. This, I would think, is something many people strive to achieve in their lives. It may come as a surprise that this same person who continually received compliments and admiration was overweight her whole life.
Coming into my teen years, I realized, finally – that something had to give. Sure I had been told by pediatricians and especially by family that my weight was going to keep me unhappy in my future, and that if I did at least loose some weight – id been just STUNNING. But it wasn’t until I was watching the fast moving world around me wearing the nicest fashions – which – seemed to be getting tighter, shorter and the most unflattering materials – that I finally said, this is it – this has got to stop.
The switch, like a light bulb
(Image via Wikipedia ) inside me had gone off. I stopped eating so much pasta and bread, I made a vow to be more active, even if that meant jogging in circles in my room – sure enough it worked. I quickly became even more idolized, and most of all I felt amazing.
Keeping up with a “normal” size included the need to attend a gym and watch my calorie intake – sometimes annoying – but not too much of a nuisance.
But when that switch burns out, and the light inside is no longer shining. Loosing weight becomes the hardest battle you will ever have to face.
Gorging myself on fast food, making giant suppers to share with family, getting rid of the gym membership I no longer had time to use, and spending more time relaxing on the cough when I wasn’t at work typing away at my desk – resulted in loosing all I’ve ever worked for.
I have watched this same thing happen to many others as well. People who lost astounding amounts of weight, reserving back to that “not thinking about loosing weight” mentality and things just get out of control. Ive even seen people who were watched on weightloss focused T.V. shows come back months after the show was over, only to show the weight is back.
Why? Simple. Because you can NEVER stop exercising or watching what you eat. EVER. Maybe not the first or second time after you’ve splurged, but eventually, – it will catch up with you. And like me, you’ll be struggling to loose it all over again. All that hard work put into the first time, all the sweat and tears to get to the right point, all set back in reverse. Chances are, over time, lifestyles too change – new jobs, new relationships, different circumstances – all can potentially stand in the way of loosing that weight. This is why it is so hard to loose weight. And if that light bulb goes on in your head to loose that weight, you MUST do it, work hard at it, and – when you achieve success, MOST importantly work the hardest you ever have to maintain that weightloss.
This is why loosing weight is so hard, and why it should involves a true dedication and NEVER turning back, even when the goal is met.
