Why It is Hard to Lose Belly Fat
It is very common for men who have fat specifically around abdominal areas and for women who have fat around their hips and thighs.
Let’s understand from the physiology. It almost sounds predetermine to say that if you look at your body, most likely it reflects one of your parents’, on your dad or your mother. However, there is a degree of this predetermination in this equation. If you want to have an idea how potentially you can work with your body, you can look at one of your parents, that most likely, the frame, the body shape, and the weight that you are going to take on. Everyone is individual so we can work with all you have but understanding that there are a lot of different works that you can do to lose your belly fat or fat on you hips and thighs regardless of what shape of your parents might look like.
Men typically gain weight around their abdomen and there is a reason for this. It is the testosterone which is the hormone in the body that stimulates or triggers certain receptors located in the abdominal area. Men basically have two different types of fat receptors. One type of the receptors allows body to burn fat or oxidizes the fat well, and the other one tells the body to store fat. This happens with men that they have the receptor that tells the body to store fat in their abdominal area. That is why for men, abdomen area is the first place that fat will be stored and that is why they gain weight in the abdominal area. The problem is though the belly fat is highly related to cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and other health complications.
For women, those fat storing receptors are located in hip and thigh area and for them; again, it is the hormonal thing. The brain or the body tells itself that it needs the fat in those areas to protect the reproductive system. There is a reason for everything but this doesn’t mean that you can not lose weight on those areas or you will grow 200 pounds. That is not what you want. To understand about the genetic and what happens with the fat storing receptors, will help you improving and getting rid of the fat in those areas.
For women, the first places to store fat are in the hips and thighs generally. If you want to lose fat, the first place that you are going to lose fat is in somewhere else. The last place to lose the fat is in that area again because those receptors likely to hold on to the fat. They will not release it until the very last moment. Thus you likely gain weight in those areas first and those same areas will lose the fat last.
If you are on the weight lost regime, whether healthy eating, exercise, or whatever it is, remember you’re going to see weight lost on you check, your upper body, perhaps your legs first. The last area to see weight lost, in men will be the abdominal area, and in women will be hip and thigh areas. So don’t be discouraged that you’re not seeing the result of losing weight. The key is to develop over time, and also promote healthy eating, regular exercise.
