16-tips to Help Alleviate Those Awful Cramps and Bloating

Women have sought treatment all throughout time to find the cure for menstrual cramps.

Do you suffer from menstrual cramps and bloating during your menstral cycle? Menstrual cramps can cause fatigue, irritability, headaches and even depression. Women from all over the world and throughout time have sought to find the cure from their suffering. Some have even found their miracle cure.   1. Reduce your coffee consumption, decaffeinated coffee, black tea, decaffeinated black tea, especially before bedtime.
  2. Reduce or eliminate alcoholic beverages.
  3. Drink plenty of water.
  4. Eat lots of fresh organic fruits and vegetables, whole grains and fiber.
  5. If you are a fish eater then eat freshly caught fish such as: cold water fish, herring, halibut, salmon, and sardines.
  6. Reduce your salt intake.
  7. Reduce or quit smoking.
  8. Practice aerobic exercising  or other forms of exercising such as: walking, jogging, swimming,cycling or even stretching.
  9. Consider switching to sanitary napkins instead of tampons.
  10. For bloating, try vitamin B6-100mg’s, three times daily, from mid cycle through the time that the bloating and cramping cease each month.
  11. When experiencing bloating, massage the pressure points to enhance circulation of blood increase energy, and provide relief.
  12. Avoid using intra-uterine devices (IUD’s) for contraception as they can increase menstrual cramps and bloating.
  13. Apply heating pad or if cold works better than try ice packs, a hot water bottle or a warm sitz bath followed by a cold sitz bath.
  14. Certain teas such as: ginger-root, raspberry, blessed thistle, chamomile, raspberry palm leaf, valerian and yarrow, have been very helpful in alleviating cramping and bloating.
  15. Supplements with Magnesium, alleviates cramping and it’s nontoxic and safe to consume in large quantities.
  16. Take a pain reliever, they can alleviate cramps. Such as: Tylenol, Ibuprofen or Midol.

  9. i had never thought of an ice pack and ihave Extreame cramps- this is helping more than anything else! also i have recently heard that calcium and magnesium help as well so lots of yogurt!
