How Much Pain is Associated with a Vaginoplasty?

With vaginoplasty becoming one of the most requested surgical procedures for women, it makes sense to have a look at the things that women do not focus on when they decide to have it done.

IT is all very good and well to delve further into the benefits and advantages that surgery like this can have on your life but the disadvantages and downsides of the surgery must be considered at the same time.

First of all, even though this is a quick and simple surgical procedure it still comes with its risks as with any surgery. There is the risk of infection and problems with healing and if you do not go with a reputable and fully qualified surgeon, you are simply begging for trouble. Even if everything goes to plan and the surgery is completed easily and without complications, there is still the after care to concern yourself about and most importantly, how long you will need to wait before you can start enjoying the effects of the surgery itself.

Two weeks tends to be the most advised time frame to avoid sexual intercourse and other sexual activity after the operation. This tends to be a little bit longer if other surgical procedures such as a labiaplasty are thrown into the mix but as a general rule, the vaginoplasty on its own will require just two weeks. This can be longer if the wound do not heal as fast as they should be or if you experience complications during the healing process.

After the actual vaginoplasty operation, it is expected that pain will follow for approximately one week after the procedure. It is more than likely that the surgeon will prescribe you with pain killers to soothe this pain and there are a few other things that you can do in order to minimize the pain such as using cool packs. Antibiotics may be given as well to prevent any infection from occurring and seeing as the wounds are in such a delicate place, this is a must!

After around one week of having the operation, you will normally be requested to go back to the surgery in order to have the stitches removed. These stitches may be ripped out if you choose to have sex before you are meant to and the vagina may also tear or stretch back to its prior shape and size if you do not follow these guidelines.

With 98 percent of vaginoplasty procedures the results are exactly as the patient requires with only the small two percent having to go back for revisions. With happy customers such as this, it is no wonder that it is becoming the most requested surgical procedure for both young and older women alike. However it must be remembered that the after surgery needs to be of the highest standards to ensure that you are able to go on and lead a healthy and happy sex life. There is no point in going through all of that pain to reverse it all by having sex too early!
