Symptons of Endometriosis: What Every Women Should Know

My daughter has endometriosis, so I thought I would go through the symptoms of this with all of you, to make you aware of endometriosis.

What is endometriosis? Endometriosis is a condition in which the tissue that generally lines the uterus grows somehow in other areas of the body. When this happens it causes a lot a pain for women, irregular bleeding and sometimes it can even cause a woman to become infertile.

There are many symptoms a women may experience if she has endometriosis. These symptoms vary from woman to woman. Some women will have all the symptoms, while others will have none except for the fertility. The symptoms are as follows:

One sign of endometriosis is very painful menstrual cramps. Most women experience menstrual cramps with their cycle, but women who have endometriosis are much more intense. These cramps sometimes cause nausea or vomiting.

Another sign of endometriosis is severe pelvic pain throughout their menstrual cycle. Sometimes though, they experience this pain even when it is not their menstrual cycle.

Women have complained that having intercourse is very painful. So if you are experiencing severe pain during intercourse you may have endometriosis. Speak to you doctor about this.

Another sign of endometriosis is having a much heavier menstrual cycle. Many women say their menstrual cycle lasts much longer. While others say they get it more often.

Endometriosis is found in many women who are infertile. Many women only find out they have endometriosis when they go to the doctors to find out why they are having trouble conceiving.

Endometriosis may grow on or around the bladder area, this can cause a woman to have blood in her urine. If you start having blood in your urine, please contact your doctor immediately.

Many women with endometriosis have one or the other of these, some have constipation, while others have diarrhea. It usually seems to get worse around their menstrual cycle.

What causes endometriosis is not known. They say there may be a possible genetic link. I do not know if I agree with this. My daughter has endometroisis, I do not, no one in my family has it, no one in my husbands family has it. She is the first one in the family to get this!

My daughter got it so severe that she had to have surgery done to remove it. Her doctor said that he got it and she was pain free for almost two years. Now it is back! Today she started receiving injections to see if it helps her get out of the pain that she is in. It is called a Lupron injection, does it work? I do not know. I will definitely let you know in the future. For her sake, I hope so. I love my daughter and am tired of seeing her curled up in pain.
