The Four Mid-Cycle Changes
Unless you use hormonal birth control, your body releases an egg each month, triggering changes like these.

1. You aren’t as hungry
Studies show that women eat less at the midpoint between periods. It may be nature’s way of freeing you up to have sex…not waste time searching for food.
2. You’re susceptible to getting sick
Vaginal mucus thins during ovulation so sperm can penetrate your cervix and reach the egg. But your nasal mucus also thins out, making it easier for germs to enter your system.
3. You feel super-energetic
Because you’re fertile now, you might be more motivated to exert yourself and find a mate.
4. Your sex drive surges
In general, women feel lustier midcycle. Since your odds of baby making are at the highest point, don’t leave home without your birth control.
