About Fibromyalgia

A lot of people have pain and yet the doctor says nothing is wrong with you.

You probably have fibromyalgia if you feel exhausted a lot and have pain all over and your doctor insists nothing is wrong with you.  Fibromyalgia makes pains in your muscle, ligaments and tendons

You will have tender points which are the areas of your body that is in pain, but they are in specific areas. Some tender points such as back of the head, tops of shoulder, front side of neck, elbows, and knees.

Some reasons that may have lead you to fibromyalgia is a genetic mutation, illesses like an infection can sometimes cause fibromyalgia or if you already have it, it can aggravate it.

There is a theory called central sensitization which means your brain is extra sensitive to pain signals.

If you are a woman, you may have fibromyalgia more than a man.

Fibromyalgia occurs mostly middle and early adulthood.

Researchers aren’t sure if fibromyalgia causes loss of sleep or if loss of sleep gives you fibromyalgia. You may also have a sleep disorder like sleep apnea.

If you have rheumatoid arthritis you have a chance of getting fibromyalgia.

One study has looked at neurontin. In that study the medicine caused less pain than a placebo. But it is not approved by the FDA.  THe FDA des approve Lyrica.  Both medicines work by limiting the chemical release communicating pain cells in the brain or spinal cord.

If you have this and are not being treated, I hope your doctor discovers it and helps you feel better.
