The thought of exercising seems exciting to many and they jump onto to it, only to find it difficult to continue. Therefore, at some point of time, they just abandon it and go back to their usual life. These way things do not work. If you expect results from your exercise regime, you must follow them sincerely and regularly. It may seem difficult to go on with the regime without noticing any results, but with patience and regular exercise, you will soon start reaping the benefits of your workout.

However, most important of all is the fact that you must perform the exercises in the correct manner.

Stretching before and after exercise is the key to remaining flexible and reduces the chances of cramps are pulling muscles. Always stretch slowly and gently until you get a slight pull, never pain. People tend to forget how important this is and dive into their regime without even wiggling their toes.

Aerobics involves all movements that raise not only your heart rate but your respiratory rate too. This recommended activity should last for at least half an hour per day, three times a week minimum. Start with walking at a comfortable pace and then gradually build up the speed over a set period of time. Walking the dog for example (or somebody else’s if you don’t own one) is a great start to get into shape. Remember though that variety is the key so once you feel ready try some swimming or cycling.

Strength Training by lifting weights regularly makes your muscles stronger and more firm. These days you have a huge choice of strength exercises including free weights, weight machines and resistance bands. Muscles that are firm burn calories far easier than ones with fatty tissue so if you want to look toned and keep your weight down, muscle work is the answer.
