How to Avoid & Treat Heartburn Without Pharmaceuticals

I have dealt with heartburn through most of life and it is not a pleasant experience.

Many people suffer from this food related condition and I am here to help sufferers by giving a few tips & tricks that I’ve learned along my journey.

Heartburn is a condition in which the stomach has trouble digesting food so it produces more stomach acid in an attempt to break it down.  Sometimes the stomach produces so much stomach acid that it overflows into the esophagus.  Once the stomach acid spills into the esosphagus, that’s when you feel the burning sensation which we call heartburn.

      Heartburn can come from a vast number of causes, but I will list all of the foods that I am aware of down below which you should avoid consuming excessively in a short period of time :

  • Eating greasy foods
  • Citrus fruits (orange juice)
  • Eating spicy foods
  • Eating overly sugar coated or salty foods
  • Eating foods you are allergic to
  • Eating too much
  • Consuming excessive chocloate, alcohol, or tomato containing products
  • Eating the above foods before going to sleep

A few solutions for heartburn, if you are already suffering from it are consuming the following food products:

  • Yogurt (preferably greek with reduced sugar)
  • Aloe Vera Juice
  • Apples
  • Grapes
  • Green Tea
  • Carbonated Water

Only use drugs and instant relief medication as a last resort if all else fails. Remember, the best way to prevent heartburn is to watch how much of a certain food you are consuming.  Consume the foods that I warned you about in rationed portions and make sure to eat a cleaner diet with more fruits and vegetables than meat n starch.  Speak to your doctor if your heartburn happens on a daily basis or too frequently.
