Simple Nutrition Diet Tips for Pregnant Women and Breastfeeding Women

Pregnant or breastfeeding women needs good balanced diet with proper nutrition.

Pregnant women needs only approx. 300 extra calories per day to maintain her healthy pregnancy. It also provides necessary nutrition diet for a growing baby.

Don’t drink even a single drop of alcohol, as it is not safe for the baby.

Eat enough amount of Fats and proteins sources (Like Meat, milk, vegetables), as they are important source to your baby’s developing brain and nervous system and also helps in weight control.

Choose your meal properly, there are some foods that are injurious or harmful to a pregnant women. These foods includes fish, raw sprouts, soft cheeses, sushi that may contain high levels of mercury.

Use less amount of Caffeine, which was found in Tea, coffee, soft-drinks, etc. Caffeine has been linked to a higher risk of miscarriage. Drink only one caffeinated drink per day, or if you can ignore it than its good for you.

Gaining Weight is natural during pregnancy period.

Eat frequent and smaller meals rather than large meals at once. It helps to prevent & reduce morning sickness and heartburn.

Eat enough amount of protein and calcium sources (Like Milk, vegetables), as they are in higher demand during lactation (Lactation describes the secretion of milk from the mammary glands and the period of time that a mother lactates to feed her young baby).

Strictly avoid alcohol, caffeinated drinks. As mentioned above in the pregnancy guidelines.
