We only live once and therefore it is important to make the most out of our gate pass to this world.
There are many tips and advices on how to stay healthy. You can enrol in a gym and spend money or you can buy so-called energy and health drinks including vitamins and minerals to stay healthy. But did you know that the real key to staying healthy does not require you to spend on commercially available products and exercise equipments?
All you need to do is follow some daily routines and you’re off to a healthy living without unnecessary stress to your wallet.
Make it a Habit to Walk in the Morning
If there is a park in your community, it will help to walk a few rounds around it everyday without fail. Thirty minutes to one hour is enough as long as you will sweat during that period. Jog if you must or just plain walking is enough as long as you burn calories by way of sweating.
Just make sure you do some stretching before making the rounds to prevent possible injury.
Eat Fruits and Vegetables more Often
Avoid foods that are rich in carbohydrates. As we grow old, our body tends to slow in digesting foods and with carbo rich foods, they become fats stored in our body. If you have a slow metabolism, you will get fat easily and will need more than the usual exercise to burn calories.
Do Not Stress Yourself Too Much
Stress is al so a killer and we age faster when we are always stressed. I’ve seen people in their sixties who only look like in the forties and when I asked what is the secret, they said the reason is they don’t allow stress to take the better of them. They have a positive outlok in life and no matter what problems come in the way, they just think that it will all go away sooner or later.
Maintain a Positive Mental Attitude
Too much negativity within you will affect your health so it must be avoided. Always look at the positive side of things. If there is a negative aura in your sorrounding, don’t let them affect you. It helps if the members of the family also have the same positive mental attitude. A positive energy is what we must always harness in our life.
Visit a Doctor Periodically
Especially when we reach the age of forty and above, a visit to a doctor is necessary to monitor our helath. Make sure to visit your favorte medical practitioner so you can get updated on what you need to keep a healthy life. Most of the time the signs are not readily apparent and it would take a professinal diagnosis before we can realize that we need medical attention. To nip the problem in the bud so to speak, you have to periodically submit to a medical health check.
So you see, you don’t have to be rich to stay healthy and live along life. There is also no need to spend a lot of money. The saying “Prevention is better than Cure” still holds true to this day.
