We Can Win The Fight Against Cancer

Demystify It!

Statistics have proven that more and more persons are now getting cancer; even persons who are living a healthy lifestyle. According to the Ministry of Health, in 2012, statistics showed that 1,200 women were diagnosed annually with cancer.

What can we do? Discover the problem early. Most people find out about their diagnosis when it’s already in the late stage. With such an aggressive disease on the loose, it is, therefore, extremely important that regular checkups at your gynaecologist or doctor is done, because early detection gives you a better fighting chance to provide more time to explore the different treatment options available.

Fortunately, there are solutions to help an individual control and remove this disease. Modern medicine or natural medicines are approaches an individual can use. Just as there are many cases of persons dying with cancer, there are also countless cases of persons who have recovered from cancer. The key is to explore your options.

It is also my humblest belief that we can reverse this disease with strong faith in God. Having faith is deciding to trust without absolute certainty of where you’ll land; it’s a leap of faith. We also need to stop trying to control everything and let go and let God. This is one of the most liberating acts anyone can do for themselves, and is the best remedy for peace of mind, which leads to a healthier body.

Re-language the way we speak, that is, replacing our negative talk with positive talk also helps. The tongue is extremely powerful, and oftentimes, we are our own problems as much as we are our solutions.

Learning to de-stress and creating balance is also important. Learn to engage in activities that bring you joy and place a smile on your face. (Someone once said, “do what you love or enjoy and the money will follow”).

According to author Louise Haye (You Can Heal Your Life), we are responsible for creating the disease in our bodies, and the first point of creation is stress. It is also important to surround yourself with positive people, practise self-love.

There are over 100 different types of cancer. Most cancers are named for the organ or type of cell in which they start - for example, cancer that begins in the colon is called colon cancer; cancer that begins in the skin is called skin cancer, etc - melanocytes of the skin is called melanoma.

Cancer types can be grouped into broader categories. The five main categories of cancer include:

CARCINOMA - cancer that begins in the skin or in tissues that line or cover internal organs.

SARCOMA - cancer that begins in your bone, cartilage, fat, muscle, blood vessels, or other connective or supportive tissue.

LEUKEMIA - cancer that starts in blood-forming tissue such as the bone marrow and causes large numbers of abnormal blood cells to be produced and enter the blood.

LYMPHOMA AND MYELOMA - cancers that begin in the cells of the immune system.

CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM CANCERS - cancers that begin in the tissues of the brain and spinal cord.

Various factors can contribute to an individual being diagnosed with cancer, namely a poor diet that is filled with sugars, starch, fats and oils; unhealthy habits, such as smoking, drinking and using drugs.

Other contributing factors include not getting proper sleep at nights, because your cells need to repair between 10:00 pm and 2:00 am; lack of exercise; being around carcinogenic objects, for example, insecticides, pesticides, harmful chemicals, radiation from microwaves, cell phones and towers.
