Tips to Reduce Stress

Stress can affect health and well-being has been understood by people for millennia.

The biggest source of stress comes from our social life and jobs.

While stresses, challenges, and bereavement are a part of human life, staying connected provides natural protection.

Here are some effective tips to reduce stress:

  • Always set aside some time for quiet meditation. A study showed that meditation reduced the risk of death, heart attack and stroke by 40% over five years in patients with proven coronary heart diseases.
  • Take time out for exercise too, this improves resilience and reduces mental tension.
  • Yoga can help both mental and physical well-being.
  • Having someone to talk to about problems and tensions, is extremely important.
  • Get regular sleep
  • Take vacations away from a difficult job.
  • Fostering an ethic that the ‘pursuit of material wealth is not worthwhile at the cost of health’ can help in dealing with stress.
  • Fortifying your body with the nutrients it needs is key to reducing stress and staying healthy while you’re feeling it, as stress can actually rob your body of nutrients. This means eating plenty of fruits, vegetables and other antioxidant-rich foods while avoiding junk foods.
  • Think positive. Remember the good things of your life.
  • Take hot baths or shower. This will help you to relax.
  • Listen good music, music helps to relax you.
  • Massage the tense muscles. The muscles in the back of the neck and upper back usually get tensed when you are stresses.

Try these tips to get out of stress and feel good!
