Vegetables contain an abundance of antioxidants that have been associated with protection from chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and hypertension as well as other medical conditions.

Health experts recommend daily consumption of (3) servings of vegetables. One of the best vegetables that health experts recommend to be part of our dietary foods is Saluyot which can commonly be found at the backyard of the Filipinos in the Philippines or Jute leaves as in English term.

  5. Kamiogi, you can order saluyot at Nichols Garden Nursery in Oregon. We ordered our saluyot seeds there and they are thriving in our backyard. They seem to like 90 plus degrees weather in high elevation Arizona.

  18. yeah i agree that saluyot is great…i am drinking “saluyot tea”….or water/juice from boiled saluyot leaves….i’m only worried though if boiling these leaves make them overcooked?…kasi db sabi ng mga cooking experts if you overcook food (espec. vegetables) their nutrients or health benefits are minimized?..is that true?…if so, is it better to eat raw saluyot (as in veg.salad)?…has anybody tried that?

  21. If you love eating lettuce salad, the more you will love eating saluyot salad (fresh leaves). It\’s crunchy!
